Learning exam techniques is probably the most important thing that I learnt. It’s very useful to know how to split a large question into parts and then answer the parts individually.
The English Course has benefited me by finding my weaknesses in English. It has also helped me understand, practice and master those aspects of English… I think the course is perfect. I am truly very happy with the teaching.
The course has helped mostly by explaining how to study for the exam. I used to think it was impossible to study for English…. The exam-focused approach will definitely help me improve my marks. This is an area that schools are clearly lacking.

The course has helped me immensely with both understanding the theory and with exam technique. The way we worked through ‘perfect’ exam answers was especially helpful. Also, the set of notes to act as reference material looks useful, as was the interactive environment.
This course helped me clarify everything, so I understand everything now instead of having to just memorise.
The English course has helped me in numerous aspects the HSC English course, in which I was not previously confident such as: how to structure essays; what and what not to incorporate in my work; and which language features to integrate into my response. It is evident that time and effort was put into the course and it has paid off.
I’m now more confident with my ability to answer harder questions. This course has also highlighted that I need to make sure I remember definitions better. The theory + questions approach has been most effective.
The two tier approach (of theory and exam technique) is very useful as it goes through the concept then shows how to apply that concept in questions.
I’ve liked the fact that everything was lively and happy, not boring. The course was made most effective by just answering the syllabus points, rather than adding useless information.
The features I liked the most is the group approach, this has made the course more effective as it allows people to have a variety of approaches on how to do things.
It has helped me to understand all these weak areas I previously had trouble understanding. I really liked the idea of answering questions on the board and then someone critiquing it. The explanations were also great.
